Changes and Updates to the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

    Last updated 10 days ago

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has developed a reputation as a luxury car that offers plenty of room, technology, sophistication, and variety. There are dozens of reasons why the updated 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is worth serious consideration. Here are some impressive changes that were made to the ninth-generation, 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class:

    All-New Powertrain

    More Power

The Mercedes-Benz E350 will be fitted with a brand-new, direct-injection 3.5-liter V6 that bumps horsepower from 268 to 302. There will also be a new engine for the E550—a 402-horsepower, 443 lb-ft of torque twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8. Last, but certainly not least, the new AMG engine will be available on the E63: a 5.5-liter Biturbo V8 capable of a startling 518 horsepower. With the AMG performance package, this number gets a 32-horsepower jolt.

    Greater Efficiency

Both engines are engineered for optimal fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions. This is thanks in part to direct-injection technology, turbocharging technology, and the updated 7-speed automatic transmission. The 7G-Tronic allows for quicker shifts, lower engine revs, and less vibration. With the AMG engine, you can benefit from the ECO start/top engine function, which turns the engine off when you are at a stop and resumes function when you take your foot off of the brake.

     Bountiful Features

All Mercedes E-Class models boast a 7-inch LCD onboard display with 3D capabilities. Of course, you’ll also enjoy a plethora of premium features, such as a sunroof, automatic headlights, LED running lights, Bluetooth, and the COMAND electronic interface, which now enjoys full internet access.

Sedan, Coupe, Convertible, & Wagon Options

For 2012, you can choose from any of these body styles, including the long-awaited Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon. Another bonus for 2012 is that the E550 sedan includes 4Matic all-wheel drive technology, standard.

    2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 vs. the C350

    Last updated 12 days ago

For many years, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has impressed buyers who want the luxury and style of a Mercedes-Benz in a smaller and more affordable package. Now with a sleek new coupe model for 2012, there are more options than ever. Keep reading to see which C-Class vehicle might be the best fit for you:

     Powertrain

    C250

The 4-cylinder engine on the Mercedes-Benz C250 is small at 1.8 liters, but packs a 201-horsepower punch, thanks to direct injection and turbocharging. With a variety of new technologies, this engine is able to run efficiently at lower speeds. This is why it’s able to achieve an impressive 31 mpg highway rating.

    C350

If you prefer naturally aspirated power, the C350 features a 3.5-liter, 302-horsepower V6 engine. There’s no turbo-lag in the C350, allowing for a more immediate response and noticeably quicker acceleration. This engine is also incredibly fuel efficient.

    Features

    C250

On the entry-level Mercedes C-Class, you can expect all the luxury essentials: automatic headlights, LED running lights, a sunroof, automatic windshield wipers, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming mirrors, and Bluetooth.

    C350

The V6 C-Class gets sportier wheels, suspension, design details, and interior trim. This vehicle also features luxury amenities like four-way adjustable lumbar support, heated front seats, a Harmon Kardon surround-sound system, special iPod integration, and folding rear seats.

    Body Style

Although the sedan is less expensive than the coupe, the coupe undoubtedly packs more style. In addition to the sophisticated new design and the SL-inspired headlights, the C-Class coupe features a panoramic glass sunroof on the C350. If you choose the C250 coupe, you can expect a wealth of other goodies over the sedan, such as split folding seats and shift paddles.

The only way to absolutely determine the best C-Class for you is to take some for a spin at Mercedes-Benz of Boerne in the San Antonio area. Call us at (866) 375-7686 to schedule a test drive today, or visit us on Facebook to see what we have to offer.
